The Smithsonian American Women's History Initiative illuminates women's pivotal roles in building and sustaining our country. It tells the untold and often-overlooked stories of women that have had an impact on America's collective history. With a digital-first mission and focus, the brand I created had to adapt to all forms of technology and methods of sharing.

Instead of designing a singular static mark, I created a logo system to act as a 'graphical framework' allowing flexibility for different situations and environments. This allowed the brand to start a conversation beyond the name of the initiative, pointing to other ideas and issues that are important. Identity guidelines were created to help educate and maintain consistency throughout the Smithsonian.
